The concept of the “Tetris” project was based on the use of maximally identical blocks and planning solutions, reflecting the idea of “combining separate blocks into a unified structure.”
The team’s task was to create an economy-class residential complex that would be not only functional and affordable but also visually appealing.
The main challenge during the design phase was the risk of uniformity: using identical blocks and elements could lead to a monotonous effect, negatively impacting the overall perception of the complex. To avoid this, the 1to1 team approached the problem with maximum creativity.
While implementing the project, the specialists developed an innovative approach to block arrangement. Instead of simply repeating identical blocks, they applied a method of dynamic composition: the blocks were rotated and positioned in the plan in such a way that the overall composition gained diversity and uniqueness. This method allowed for the avoidance of predictability and created a visually interesting and harmonious appearance for the complex.
We created four unique semi-open courtyards consisting of similar blocks. These blocks were divided into various color palettes, enhancing the play of facade elements: they maintain the overall harmony of the complex, but each has its own individuality.
The facade colors of the buildings were chosen from monochromatic or neutral tones. The composition consists of three primary colors: white, deep green, and graphite. The facade elements are designed in strict rectangular shapes.
The buildings of the complex are 6- and 7-story structures. The upper floors of the differently heighted blocks feature recessed facades with terraces. Along the main boulevard, the first floors house continuous rows of commercial spaces, which are also recessed from the main facade, adding lightness and airiness to the entire complex. A subterranean parking lot for the residents is located beneath the buildings.
The exits from the parking lots were carefully designed not to intersect with pedestrian pathways. This allowed for the creation of a private area with cozy courtyards and various recreational zones for the residents’ rest and leisure.
